Wayne and I have not been on a vacation alone in our entire 7-years of marriage (except for our honeymoon), and neither have we been on a family vacation. More recently we have been feeling the effects of not only wanting to get away, but needing to get away.
Just this last week we received an e-mail that many of the families at our church are trying to go to 'camp' together. Each family would get their own small cabin with a queen bed and a private bathroom, and the cost would be less that it would cost to even drive somewhere these days and it includes 2 nights and 3 meals. I really hope we can go on this camping vacation. There are pony rides for the kids and paddle boats, fishing and hiking; and there is horseback riding, zip lines and other great stuff for the adults. All-in-all, a great family time together. Plus the famous hay rides and bonfires. This trip would be at the end of October and it is less than a few hours drive from home.
Now all I need to do is get Mackenzie those hiking shoes in a larger size :) If we go I will blog all about it and post pictures :)
