Crier Creek Family Camp

We recently went on our family's first mini-vacation!  We left on Micah's birthday and enjoyed a weekend of nature, friends and fun at Crier Creek Family Camp in Columbus, Texas.  It was cold the first night and day, but slowly warmed up enough to not wear a hat and gloves all the time.  Another bonus...we didn't see, feel or hear one single mosquito!  Don't believe me...see for yourself.  I actually teared up when we were leaving...I am a COUNTRY GIRL at heart and the city kind of makes me sick in my soul...oh well.

Our cabin was The Lone Star.

The first night we had a bonfire.

Mackenzie especially liked the S'mores.

This is my favorite picture.

Me, in a tree.

Like Mother, like son.

Micah's favorite thing...the pendulum swing.

Chillin'.

Wayne's favorite thing...the horses.

My favorite moment? Watching this colt walk up to his Mommy and nurse.  So sweet!

The views.

Archery.

I hit two bulls-eyes out of three.

The road home, I was already sad to leave.

Pumpkin Patch and Nephew's

More family fun!  After Micah's birthday party we went to the pumpkin patch and hung out with the nephew's.  Again...mostly video, but here are a few pics.

Lance building a snow man pumpkin man!

I found Mine...uh, and Micah's!

Swimming in a sea of pumpkins!

I'm too cool for orange :)

Nani trying her hand at video game car racing...not so good, but really funny!

Lance just hanging out with Charlie and the gang!

Mommy, I found my car!

Field Trip

We went on our very first homeschool field trip to Dewberry Farm!  This trip was not the best for my daughter...she would have been much happier had we gone on the weekend as a family unit instead of as a school group.  On the weekend you can run around and do whatever you want whenever you want, but as a school group you must stick together with the group.  Since my kiddos are so young we were unable to participate in several activities which meant waiting a long time to finally get to an activity they enjoyed.  This caused some frustration and a few tears, but all in all we had a good time.

The entrance:

The tube swing...they both love to swing, and Micah is quite daring!

Mackenzie crawling throught the tube swing.

Micah swinging, again!

The pillow.  You jump on it.  Mackenzie didn't warm up to this idea until our group was done and had to go to the next activity.

The 'go carts' that my kids were too small to ride, so we just climbed on them.

The train, and snack time.

My pumpkin!

This goat wanted to eat everything!

Micah Turned 2

Wow!  I'm not really sure where time has flown away to, but my baby boy turned TWO!  He still insists that he is only one, but no matter how much he demands to stay young he is growing up.

Photos from the festivities.  I didn't get many photos because I was too busy talking, playing or videoing...got a lot of good video :)

Even the balloons got in on the fun.

Decorations
My first attempt at making a cake with all natural food color.  Hummm?  The grass was muddy, the water was purple, and the lava was pink...I suppose that is what the end of the dino age could have looked like.  At least it tasted alright.

One of his new 'toys'.

Wow, I get presents too!

Parks and Bugs

With this new 'homeschooling' thing we do I have found that we explore A LOT.  Here is some photo proof!

Water!

Enjoying the back yard (please excuse the toddler grime on the window).

Swinging.

Bug Discovery!

It tickles :)

Everyone needs a good stick.

Even toddlers need a good stick.

Picnic, reading and cloud watching.
