Different Already

I know that pregnancies can be different from one another, but WOW, this one is extremely different than my first pregnancy. One of my friends asked me the other day if this pregnancy was more difficult or easier than my first one? Seriously, I was not able to give a good answer for that question.

I will only be 11-weeks along tomorrow, and I am hoping that with the 2nd trimester comes some much needed relief, but has this pregnancy been more difficult thus far? Well, why don't you tell me. I will give you a rundown of the differences and you can decide. I think any time you are in the middle of going through something you tend to believe it is more difficult because you are smack dab in the middle of it, but I really do remember being MISERABLE with morning sickness for the longest time with Mackenzie and am glad that this is not an exact repeat (although it was heading there fast).

1st Pregnancy:
*No complications during entire pregnancy.

*AWFUL morning sickness through about 16-weeks of pregnancy (threw up 6 - 8 times a day on most days)

*The day the morning sickness ebbed away I got the WORST heart burn. The burning was constant and very strong. It even made me throw up from time to time until Mackenzie was born. I thought a hole was being burnt into my chest.

*Other than that I had a ton of energy, was never really achy, enjoyed being pregnant, never had the headaches, dizziness or fatigue that often comes with pregnancy. I did have the usual 'run to the bathroom to pee every 10 minutes', and the 'I'm starving all the time' but what woman does not have that. I bonded well with Mackenzie en-utero, so all in all we survived and I actually loved being pregnant.

2nd Pregnancy:
*I started off having awful morning sickness and was well on my way to throwing up 6-8 times a day, but was told to go ahead and get off the vitamins for a little while until this passes. Since getting off the vitamins I only throw up once ever 2-3 days (even though I feel like throwing up all the time).

*I already can NOT sleep at night. And for no good reason. My mind simply will not turn off, and I'm not even thinking about anything important. Ugg.

*I am EXHAUSTED all the time, but since I have a wonderful and sweet toddler she doesn't make anything more difficult on me. Boy am I blessed in that area.

*I have had a bit of indigestion.

*I have been CRAZY dizzy and light headed.

*I have been getting headaches, and last night was the worst one yet!

*I would wake up in the morning to aching hips, shoulders and lower back (next post will be about this).

*Even with all of that I am enjoying being pregnant; if that is even possible. And I am already bonding with this new little life growing inside me. Seriously, I already want to know if this baby is a boy or a girl. Also, like I said earlier, I really hope that the 2nd trimester brings some much needed relief in the morning sickness, headaches, dizziness, tiredness, light headedness...arena.

So, what do you think? Has this pregnancy been easier or more difficult thus far? I predict that I will NOT GET HEARTBURN this pregnancy, so the 2nd and 3rd trimesters will be easier than my first pregnancy.
