Changing Seasons - Part 1

I am sure by now everyone is looking forward to the changing seasons, but not so much to the yuck that can blow in with them.  Sneezes and sniffles seem to be making its way around this year, but if we are knowledgeable and prepared we don't have to be afraid.  This next short series is going to be about practical ways we can 'prepare' against this (and other) potential effects.

Did you know that viruses are not new?  Actually, the enterovirus was first discovered in 1962, and it effects nearly 50 million people annually in the United States.  While most people have mild symptoms, since so many people get some form of this annually, the number of serious complications can add up.

Most people have had at least one form of enterovirus by age 1.  You may recognize some of the various enterovirus: polio, had-foot-and-mouth disease, encephalitis, meningitis, and many others.

The enterovirus is highly contagious and lives in bodily fluids, surfaces (several days), and even in dust!  The average incubation period is 3-10 days, so who knows where they actually picked up the little (or big) bug?

Another quirk about this virus is that it can settle in various organs of the body and lie dormant or show up as a series of illnesses over several years.

So, what can we do to keep our defenses up?  That is a great question!

Today we will talk about hygiene.  Of coarse, I believe prayer is the number one defense anyone can have, but for this blog's sake we will talk about Young Living oils and products (which I also believe to be a gift from God coming from the very plants He created).

Ok, back to hygiene.  Drum roll please (drrrrrrruuuuuuummmmmm) Thieves!  Yes, as a family we L-O-V-E Young Living's Thieves line.  All of it.  Yes.  All.  Of.  It.

First, clean your house with the Thieves Household Cleaner.  It is a 'cleaner' after all.  Remember those surfaces the virus can live on for several days?  Kill it in your own home by keeping those surfaces clean.  You can also use Thieves Bar Soap or Thieves Foaming Hand Soap at all of your bathroom and kitchen sinks, and go ahead and wash those hands often.  Another great idea: diffuse!  Diffuse Thieves Essential Oil in your home or office 30 minutes daily, or even several times a day.

Ok, but I am not always home.  I do have to go out and be around people.  Yes, this is true.  My family likes to apply Thieves Essential Oil to the bottom of our feet and down the spine before going to crowded places to help with our own immune support.  Also, there is non-toxic Thieves Hand Sanitizer for us, and Thieves Spray for public surfaces likes disinfecting shopping carts!  Honestly, there is a Thieves product for all of your first line of defense needs.

Young Living's Premium Starter Kit comes with a small bottle of Thieves Essential Oil AND a Home Diffuser (along with other valuable oils).  Actually, there is a new Thieves Premium Starter Kit that comes with most of the Thieves line!
